![]() The "mackerel tabby" has narrow stripes that run in parallel lines down its sides. A few of this cat's stripes are broken into quadralateral blotches, this pattern -the blotches only, without the stripes- is what's seen in one sort of spotted tabby. Some brown tabbies have a more distinctly brown background color- all have the black stripes.
